List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, formerly known as the Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium, is a sports ground in Bangalore, India that has hosted international cricket matches along with provincial games. Named after M. Chinnaswamy, former President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is the home ground of the Karnataka cricket team and The INDIAN Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore. The ground has a capacity of 36,000 spectators for international matches. It has hosted international cricket matches since its first Test match in 1974, between India and West Indies, and has been home to twenty Test matches in total. The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has also staged 24 One Day International (ODI) matches, the first of which was in 1982 when India defeated Sri Lanka during the latter's 1982–83 tour of India.

In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five-for" or "fifer") refers to a bowler taking five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement. The first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in a Test match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was Bob Willis for England against India in 1977; he finished with bowling figures of 6 wickets for 53 runs. India's Harbhajan Singh became the first and only cricketer till date to take two five-wicket hauls in the same match at this venue when he took 5 for 146 and 6 for 78 in the first and third innings of the first Test of the 2004–05 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. The best figures in Test cricket at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium are 7 for 27, taken by India's Maninder Singh against Pakistan in 1987. Ravichandran Ashwin has taken the most recent five-wicket haul at this venue, with figures of 5 for 69 against New Zealand in August 2012. As of August 2015, 23 bowlers have taken 29 Test match five-wicket hauls at this ground.

As of 2015, five bowlers have taken ODI five-wicket hauls at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. India's Javagal Srinath was the first to take an ODI five-wicket haul at this ground when he took five wickets for 41 runs against England in 1993. In the second innings, Paul Jarvis took five wickets for 35 runs as England won the match. Yuvraj Singh's five wickets for 31 runs in a 2011 World Cup match against Ireland remains the most recent five-wicket haul and also the best bowling figures in ODI cricket at this ground. As of 2015, a match between India and Pakistan on 25 December 2012 is the only Twenty20 International (T20I) to be held at the ground, which Pakistan won by five wickets with 2 balls remaining. The best bowling figures in T20I cricket at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium are Bhuvneshwar Kumar's 3 wickets for 9 runs.
