Licious

Licious is an Indian online retailer for meat and seafood products. Founded in 2015 by Vivek Gupta and Abhay Hanjura. Licious works on a farm-to-fork model owning the entire back-end supply chain and the cold chain.

History

Licious was founded in 2015 by Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta. Vivek Gupta previously worked at Helion Ventures while Abhay Hanjura worked at Futurisk Insurance Broking.

They came up with the idea for Licious over a "bad" chicken while having lunch.

Licious launched plant-based meat brand Uncrave in 2022.

On October 15, 2024, Licious bought the Bengaluru-based offline retailer 'My Chicken and More' for INR 150-200 crore.

Licious shut down Uncrave in 2025 to focus on profitability. Licious also scaled to 28 local offline stores pan-India by end of 2025 with 21 in Bengaluru itself.

Licious reported Rs 1166 Crores in revenue in FY 2026.

Funding

Licious has raised capital from firms like Avendus Capital, Temasek, and Bertelsmann Investments.

The company has reportedly been looking into an IPO in 2027-28.
