Liam McGough (Big Brother UK housemate)
Liam McGough (born 20 July 1984) is a former Big Brother contestant. He came third in Big Brother 8 in 2007.
Biography
McGough went to St Bede's School in Lanchester and to Houghall College in Durham where he studied arboriculture, and became a tree surgeon with a local tree care organisation.
He was selected to take part in Big Brother 8 in 2007, entering the house on Day 17, and on Day 22, won £100,000 after being selected for a surprise cash gift by three housemates up for eviction. He finished the contest in third place with 19% of the public vote.
After Big Brother 8, McGough appeared in the Cirque De Celebrité circus, at the Premier awards, at local charity events, made personal appearances, gave newspaper interviews, did some modelling and photoshoots, had a show on Heat Radio, wrote for Now magazine and Zoo magazine, and ran the London Marathon in aid of the MS Society.
Personal
McGough described himself as "the first guy people would ring to go out with, or if they need cheering up." He said "enjoy life, and make sure others enjoy theirs" and claimed that he "doesn't do too badly with the women... I'm not Brad Pitt, but I'm not Quasimodo's brother."
He supports Newcastle United, played cricket for the local team, and is a Harry Potter fan.
