Leslie Sikos
Leslie F. Sikos, Ph.D., is a computer scientist and web standards expert. He is a senior web developer specializing in Web Quality Assurance with a focus on web standardization, the Semantic Web, Web accessibility, and multimedia. He has a reputation as a computer book writer with author pages on community portals. His most recent and best-known book is “Web Standards: Mastering HTML5, CSS3, and XML.”
Bio
Started his first experiments with the Web in its infancy in 1995, Sikos has been studying web technologies and standards from the very beginning. He graduated as a network administrator and technological manager, holds a B.Ed. in Computer Science as well as in Technology, and obtained an M.Ed. and a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology.
Specialization
Sikos is specializing in Open Web Platform technologies and standards (HTML5, CSS3, MathML, SVG, etc.), XML, Semantic Web (meta elements, Dublin Core, IEEE LOM, ODRL, HTML5 microdata, microformats, RDF, FOAF, DOAC), Web accessibility (WCAG 2.0, Section 508), and mobile browsing.
He also performed research on Information Retrieval with Sándor Dominich and was a contributor of information security (especially access control and biometrics) projects with the R&D team of Sándor Kürti.
Beyond web technologies, he also published journal papers in interdisciplinary topics such as reliability engineering.
