Leonard's Luggage
Leonard's Luggage was a chain of retail stores in Arizona and California. It was started by Leonard Goldman in 1947. In 1960 it was sold to Malcolm Straus who kept the old name but also incorporated as Straus Leather Goods. At one time or another it had stores at the Phoenix Airport, Park Central Mall, Christown Mall, Metrocenter Mall, Fashion Square Mall and Fiesta Mall in Arizona, as well as stores in Coronado, San Diego and La Jolla in California. The company went out of business in 1999.
Other members of the Straus family that were involved in the company were :
- Marcia Straus, wife of Malcolm who died a few years ago
- Robert Straus, son of Malcolm and Marcia, who was a vice-president in the company and who died in 1999 from liver cancer.
- William "Bill" Straus, son of Malcolm and Marcia, who is a radio personality in Phoenix, Arizona.
