Legends of Elveron
Legends of Elveron is a well established and highly competitive browser-based multiplayer turn-based strategy game where you can control a kingdom in a realm consisting of 1-10 kingdoms.
Gameplay
Legends of Elveron is a rich turn-based fantasy game with a focus on player versus player interaction and resource management. The player could build up his kingdom by exploring to find land, creating buildings, gaining resources, increasing your population, acquiring heroes and items through questing, and building a military force. Military forces could then be used as defence or sent out to conquer land and resources from other players. As the player's kingdom grew in size peaceful exploration of land grew less effective and taking territory from other players became more necessary.
When signing up, players have the choice to create a pack of six spots instead of joining a random realm. This allows for friends to stay together in the same realm. When a realm is filled with six ACTIVE players, it makes the game much easier due to advices, intelligence sharing, realm improvements, and possibly a strong relic quest party backed by XPers.
Goals
There are GeneRally two goals in Elveron. The majority of players are land players who try to hold the highest land ranking by the end of the game. Another group of players are known as the experience players, (XPers), who try to race for the highest ruler hero experience by the end of the game.
Land
The top land player in Elveron at the end of the each round wins the game. It is usually done with the following factors: significant activeness, great racial choice to begin with, great balance between offence and defence, great build & awesome economy, supportive realm & realm improvements, and some luck, though some players have won the game by starting with [...] offense and defence. On winning the land ranking, the player is given a chance to create their own unique hero, to be added to the bazaar in the future rounds.
Experience
Instead of maximizing their economy and military like the land players, XPers build mainly academies and frost temples. Academies are used to increase chance to gain heroes and increase hero experience gains. Frost Temples decrease troop return time, so the player may attack more frequently and thus gain more experience and decrease hero and troop casualties, thereby Providing a greater chance to keep experienced heroes alive to gain even more experience. Although winning the XP ranking isn't officially recognized as winning the land ranking, the implementation of the quest system (Age of Expansion, Round 7) have created more attention for this category of players. Starting from the Age of Expansion, Round 8, the winner of the XP ranking will be given a chance to create their own unique ruler hero item.
The Realm
A realm is a group of players who work together and are given a realm number and the option to change their realm name. The player with the most votes is the monarch, who then selects the prince/princess, general, and council cleaners. Realm-mates may attack each other but will not gain anything. The realm can also donate heroes to be used in attempts to acquire a relic, an item giving boosts to all players in a realm, or protect one the realm currently is in possession of. Realms may have up to 12 players and a pack is where the realm creator gives a special code to up to 5 others to start a realm with themselves and random realm joiners.

History
Legends of Elveron was founded by Ulf Frisk aka viruz aka V as Legends in 2003. The first public beta round started in August(September?) 2003 and included a number of original races which have disappeared from the game during its ongoing modifications. Legends was renamed to Legends of Elveron for pragmatic reasons and due to some issues with domain name and The New name emerged after user debate initiated by the administration.
At current time Anders Bergvall aka zip, with help of moderators, is administering the game, financial, technical support, board moderation and also game coding included. The change of ownership - though zip was one of the game administrators since the birth of Legends of Elveron -, took place in 2005, when Ulf Frisk graduated from the University of ... and moved overseas to work on other projects.
