Lee Hunt (footballer)
Lee Hunt (born 5 June 1981, Liverpool) is a English currently play for Welsh team Bangor City of the Welsh Premier League.
Career
Hunt began his career at Helsby F.C. of the West Cheshire League before Bangor City brought his talent to the Welsh Premier League during the summer of 2002. Only at Bangor until December 2003, Hunt did mansge to score 19 goal in 30 outings before leaving to join Welsh Premier League rivals, Rhyl.
It was during his first stint at the Belle Vue that Hunt has found most success. Helping the club clinch the Welsh Premier League title in 2003–04 along with the Welsh Cup and the Welsh League Cup, the English stirker scored 7 league goals in 10 starts. After helping the club to a second place spot the following season, Hunt was named in the Welsh Premier Dream Team for 2005. Another Welsh cup medal in 2005–06, followed by a runners up medal for both the Welsh Cup and Welsh Premier League earning Hunt to be named in the Welsh Premier League Dream Team for a second time. After helping Rhyl to the Welsh Cup final a second season running, Hunt gained the attention of newly promoted Conference National club Barrow. After 5 seasons, 60 goals and 119 games, Hunt signed for Barrow in the May of 2008, claiming he was being victimised by the domestic referees in the Welsh Premier League to be a reason for joining his new club.
Hunt's saty at Holker Street was a short one. Scoring just two goals from 18 starts, Hunt was loaned out to Droylsden and Fleetwood Town before being released by Barrow for faling to score more goals at the level needed.
Re-joining Welsh Champions Rhyl in July 2009, Hunt went on to score 13 goals in 20 outings before rejoing former club Bangor City on the last day of transfers in February 2010, after being rumoured to join Aberystwyth Town.
