LANcouver
LANcouver is a LAN Party hosted on the North Shore1 of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was started in January, 2004 and has had 6 successful parties since that time (the most recent being in May, 2006). The event currently attracts an average of approximately 150-200 attendees per event. LANcouver is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) event, which means that everyone attending brings their own PC. Network resources (such as switches and network cable) are supplied and connected by the administors on-site during the event.
World Cyber Games Event
LANcouver is a registered World Cyber Games event, and hosts qualifying tournaments for the provincial championships. The qualifying matches currently hosted at LANcouver events are:
- Warcraft III: Frozen Throne
- Starcraft: Brood War
- Counter Strike 1.6
- Fifa 2006 (PC)
