LaCav Community School Corporation

The LaCav Community School Corporation (LCCSC) corporation is located in La Porte, Indiana. It operates 3 schools, LaLion Elementary School, LCMS and LCHS. The current superintendent is Mr. Leo W Cavinder.

Short History of LaLion Elementary School

LaLion Elementary School was the first school in the district. Named after Leo Cavinder. LaLion means The Lion. LaLion Elementary School is the most popular. As of the 2016-2017 school year there is 104 student in grades K-5.

LaLion Elementary School has registered with the IDOE.

History of The Corporation

Here is a useful timeline:

• The founder was Mr. Leo Cavinder, which will be the 2020-2024's Superintendent
• 2010 - "LCCSC Started" Was Called LHS.
• 2012 - Realized That LHS was very similar of LaPorte High School. Also in LaPorte, Indiana
• 2012 - Changed to Valpo Schools, Witch was supposed to be different from "Valparaiso Community School Corporation".
• 2015 - Valpo Community Schools realized it and forced the school to change its name{2}. Superintendent, Tim Andrew did not want to and made LaValpo. Which the Board of Directors did not approve.
• 2015 - The name was finally changed to "LaCav Community School Corporation" which was based of the name Cavinder.
• 2017–Present Time

{2} - A staff member from "Valpo Schools" fill out the form in confusion and Valpo Community Schools and no idea what was happening and believed it was hacking. They reported it to the Police Department. And they discovered how they were so close in name and called and we were put on a warning and was told that we could have been fined for "wasting there time". Durning this time the corporation was in a crisis. The whole corporation closed for 3 days as they worked out everything. Superintendent, Tim Andrew declined the request and said it was not his fault. The corporation told all staff members to not fill out any forms regarding "Skyward".
