Kyle Kalish

Kyle Senna Kalish (born 20 October 1996 in Wauconda, Illinois) is an American Karting Driver. He is a 3-Time National Champion, one in 2009 and two in 2012. He is a driver for the MerlinUSA/ Franklin Motorsports factory race team in America.

Career

2003-2007

Kyle Kalish ran kid karts and Komet Jr. Sportsman in both a club and regional level through 2003 and 2007. He was able to achieve countless race wins and podiums in that time period.

2008-2009: Junior Sportsman

Kalish competed in both Komet and Yamaha Jr. Sportsman in 2008, while adding Cadet Jr. Sportsman to his schedule for the 2009 season. In 2008, he won the WKA Grand Nationals in the Yamaha Jr. Sportsman category. He was also able to win his second national of the season at the next round in Norway, Illinois. In 2009, he won two Daytona Kartweek races as well as a National Championship in the Cadet Jr. Sportsman category, capturing five overall wins that year. He was able to win a race at every track except for one that season.

2010-2012: Juniors

In 2010, Kalish moved up to the ultra competitive Junior ranks. He was able to grab Top-5 finishes in the championship that year. He was also able to finish constantly on the podium, something hardly any other rookies were able to do. In 2011, he struggled to stay up front with bad luck hurting his chances at a championship, but was still able to pick up one national race win. Kalish was able to come back strong late in the season, where he was on the podium four out of five attempts in the last two race weekends. In 2012, Kalish carried on his momentum and grabbed another Daytona Kartweek race win that got him the ekartingnews.com Driver of the Month. Kalish won two races at Round Three at Pittsburgh International Race Complex in early May while also winning another race at Round Four in South Bend, Ind. With Kyle's strong finishes throughout the season, he was able to win the 2012 Komet Jr. Lite and Yamaha Jr. Heavy National Championships.

2013- : Seniors

Kyle Kalish will be moving up to the senior category for the 2013 season. His plans for the 2013 season are still in the works.
