KVDO-LP
KVDO-LP is a low-power television station in Houston, Texas, with a permit to build a digital station on channel 29.
The station originally broadcast from the Clear Lake area on analog UHF channel 69. To eliminate interference to land-mobile broadcasting, it was granted a change to channel 59 and eventually channel 25. The station's facilities were destroyed by Hurricane Rita in 2005. The station applied to build out its digital channel 25 facility in Missouri City. However, the FCC ordered the station to find a new frequency due to projected interference with KCTL-LP in Livingston. Additionally, KFDM in Beaumont applied to relocate its signal to channel 25 due to reception issues. KVDO-LP settled on channel 29 for its new assignment. (Its sister station, KJIB-LP, has previously moved off its channel 29 assignment due to projected interference from KYLE-TV in College Station. At the time, KYLE was planning to operate on channel 29 after the completion of the digital transition; the station has since moved to channel 28, leaving channel 29 open for assignment in Houston.)
