KSD Shanbhag Vidyalaya
KSD Shanbhag Vidyalaya is a school located in Satara. It was established in the memory of Late Shri. Shamrao Dasappa Shanbhag by his son Ramesh Shanbhag in the year 1991. The average strength of each class is around 40 (1st to 10th - two divisions each).
Academics
Covers The Syllabus approved by the Maharashtra State Board. Classes are available till 10th std. Special facilities for playgroup and nursery students viz. a small garden with slides and swings are given.
Sports
This is the school where sports are emphasized more than academics. Students are allowed to choose any one of the following sport:
- Basketball
- Football
- Volleyball
- Hockey
- Taekwondo
- Judo
- Yoga
Good trainers are hired as sports teachers.
The school owns two basketball courts and a boxing ring.
Curricular activities
Competitions such as handwriting competition, quiz competition, elocution competition, etc. take place during the Ganesh festival. The school has a spacious stage where the curricular activities take place. Training for classical music and classical dance (Bharatanatyam) is also available.
KSDSV gathering
The school celebrates the Annual Social Gathering for three days in the month of January.
