Kroq-gar

Kroq-Gar is and ancient and Powerful Saurus Oldblood from the Lizardmen army in the fictional Warhammer Fantasy Battles Game. This article is written in a fictional context.

Early life

Kroq-Gar was spawned in the now ruined temple city of Xhotl, thousands of years ago. It is known that the spawning that bore Kroq-Gar produced only a handful of Saurus, but each one was a powerful warrior, and all were marked with the blessing of the Old One Xhotl. They were more aggressive and cunning than their brethren, and had a more developed form of the spawning of Itzl, allowing them to dominate the most dangerous of the beast of Lustria. Kroq-Gar's spawning coincided with the rearing of a brood of Carnosaurs, and therefore, he took the most violent and uncontrollable of the beast as his own.

The Fall of Xhotl

When the Polar WarP Gates collapsed a few centuries later, daemons laid siege to the old world, and Kroq-Gar led constant patrols around Xhotl in order to keep the many thousands of daemons from breaching the city. Whilst the saurus dealt with the physical onslaught, Chaqo-Quantal, The Ancient Slann Mage Priest of the city, sat unmoving atop the temple of Xhotl, with six youger Slann around him. together they pooled their power and kept magical barrier around the city walls. But the constant bombardment of the daemons meant that the barrier was failing. As the other Temple-Citeis were under seing also, no aid could be spared for Xhotl. After almost a month of constant fighting, a crack appeared in the barrier. on of the Slann was posossed by a daemonic entity, and he turned and ripped the other Slann apart. the barrier fell, and Kroq-gar immediately fought his way through to the centre of the city to rescue any survivors. Yet when he reached it,, the temple had already been ruined. Surrounded and outnumbered, the Saurus fought the daemons inside the city, but the Saurus were slowly slain until only a few survivors, led by Kroq-gar, banished the last of the daemons from the world. With his city in ruins and the Mage Priests slain, Kroq-Gar led the remainder of the army of Xhotl throgh the jungles surrounding the city, scouring for any daemons that were left. Eventually, the major threat of Chaos dissapated, but Kroq-gar still led the army through Lustria, [...] any who trespassed into his realm.

The Taking of Albion

When the island of Albion was to be taken for the Lizardmen, the great Lord Mazdamundi called for Kroq-Gar to lead the assault. Through a long series of many raiding and hit and run attacks of the recnetly settled survivors, the island was taken from the warm-bloods residing there; many were slain or driven off. It made no matter to Kroq-Gar, either way his duty was done. Many of the peoples who survived the attack believed the Scar Leader was a spirit of destruction angered by some other force on the isle. When the island was under the control of the Lizardmen, the construction of The New Temple-City of Konquata began, and Kroq-Gar lead his forces back into the jungle.

Kroq-Gar in modern times

Currently, the Scar-Leader Kroq-Gar still leads campaigns through the jungles of Lustria, driving off raiders and outsiders. He rides Grymloq, a powerful and volitile Carnosaur, fifth in a line of steeds, but the most long-lived of all of them. On his many raids, he has acquired a few artifacts that aid him in his cause: -

Hand of Gods

Taking the form of a gauntlet on his left hand, this device allows Kroq-Gar to create a searing ball of light in the palm of his hand, which can be used as an offensive weapon against his enemies.

Revered Spear of Tlanxa

Rumoured to hav once been wielded by the war-like Old One, Tlanxa, this spear hums with an ancient energy. All those stuck by it are faced with visions of their doom that sap their will to fight.
