Ko Ko Bop Challenge
The Ko Ko Bop Challenge is a viral Internet video trend where people dance the quick hip thrust succession choreography, a signature move of EXO’s song “Ko Ko Bop”. The hashtag #KoKoBopChallenge was used for popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Weibo. Shortly after the initial posting by Resey.dc on July 24, the hashtag became a trending topic on Twitter.
Concept
The challenge focuses on recreating the choreography during the "Down down baby" part of "Ko Ko Bop": holding your two arms straight in front of you and bouncing your body up and down. Additionally, people wear costumes or complete the challenge in public places. Some international media outlets compared the trend to the Harlem Shake.
Notable instances
* Filipino noontime show “It’s Showtime” with Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis
* Australian Asian Pop Radio Station, SBS PopAsia
* Bolivian TV Show "La Revista Al Día"
