KLA Schools

KLA Franchise, LLC, headquartered in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, Florida, franchises KLA Schools. KLA Schools provide early childhood education for children ages three months to six years.

All schools have an on-site franchise owner and an educational director. The schools’ curriculum is based on the Reggio Emilia Approach developed by educator and creative philosopher, Loris Maguzzi.

KLA Schools offer a variety of age and time specific programs: “Baby Nido”—three to 15 months, “Nido”—15 to 24 months, Class of the 2s, Class of the 3s, Class of the 4s, Kindergarten, Summer Camps, and Before & After School.

History

KLA Schools was founded by Roberto and Candelaria “Candy” Arocena de Ortega. Roberto was born in Ecuador and is the grandson of a former Minister of Education. Candy grew up in Argentina and Brazil.

Roberto and Candy opened their first KLA School in 2008 in Florida. Two corporate schools are open in Dade and Broward counties. A third school is scheduled to open in 2010 in Aventura, a suburban city located in northeastern Miami-Dade County.

Roberto and Candy launched the KLA Schools’s franchise program. in 2009, under KLA Franchise, LLC. In 2010, they named Jim Steger, director of franchising.

In 2010, the first franchise location was awarded to Ms. Cristina Muci and Ms. Patricia Monaco. The school will open in 2011 in Pembroke Pines, Florida, in Broward County.
