Kiyoshi Kohatsu

Kiyoshi Daniel Kohatsu, or Daniel Kiyoshi, is an animation Director and producer. He was born in Lince, Lima, Peru in March 1971. Of Japanese decent, Kiyoshi attended primary and secondary school at La Union School. He enrolled the Faculty of Arts of the Catholic University of the Peru. Uncontented with the escolasticics of artsi farsi, Kiyoshi decided to leave the university and went to Vancouver to follow studies in cinema. Later, he graduated from Vancouver Film School as an animation artist. Under the tutelage and watchful eye of the world-wide famous animator and director of cartoons Marv Newland, founder of International Rocketship, Kiyoshi started a career dedicated to production of animated short films. As a freelancer, Kiyoshi worked for several companies including Dream works, Warner Bros., MTV, Nickelodeon and Disney,

Productions in which he has participated include Gary Larson's Tales from the Far Side, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Winnie the Pooh, Mucha Lucha, Yakkity Yak, and Ren and Stimpy. There has also been a series of animated short films which Kiyoshi wrote, produced and directed originally for Walt Disney Japan.

Kiyoshi currently resides in Tokyo, Japan.
