History

Kinexia S.p.A. was among the first listed companies in Italy. The company has differentiated the business over the years, from pharmaceutical to cosmetics and nutrition. In July 2008, Pietro Colucci, an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the green economy sector, took over Schiapparelli S.p.A. which became Kinexia S.p.A., a renewable energy business. In 2011, Colucci founded the Sostenya Group, the holding company to which Kinexia belongs alongside Waste Italia, the leading company in the Waste management of non-hazardous materials. In late October 2012, Kinexia approved the business strategic plan for 2013–15, pursuing the lines of business in the agroenergy, district heating, wind and small wind energy, solar-thermal and energy efficiency industries and focusing on the environmental sector and the internationalisation. On 3 April 2014, Kinexia and the controlling company Sostenya approved both the merger by incorporation of Sostenya into Kinexia and the Joint Business Plan post-merger which develops through three guidelines of strategic development: renewables, environment and internationalisation of the Group.

Through Innovatec S.p.A., a company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (MTA segment), and controlled by Kinexia S.p.A – the Sostenya Group has launched a new project named "Smart" to provide retail and corporate customers both in Italy and in foreign countries with services of energy efficiency, production, management and storage. In 2014, Kinexia awarded the IQNet SR 10 certification becoming the first Italian company listed on the Stock Exchange to be recognised for its commitment in creating initiatives and operate choices in corporate social responsibility.
