Kendra Scott is the owner and founder of Kendra Scott, Inc.

A resident of Austin, Texas for the last fourteen years, Scott started her first company, The Hat Box, when she was nineteen years old. After running the boutique for five years, followed by three years in advertising, the 28 year-old Scott combined her love for fashion with her talent for creating jewelry. In 2002, she began her own line out of the spare bedroom of her home with an initial investment of $500.

Current

Scott’s jewelry line can be found at retailers including Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom and over 600 privately owned specialty stores worldwide. In the fall of 2008, Scott entered the online marketplace with the launch of her retail website, [www.kendrascott.com]. She now has a New York presence with the opening of her corporate showroom in the heart of the Garment District.

Scott’s jewelry has been featured in the pages of leading publications such as InStyle, Allure, People, StyleWatch and US Weekly. Scott’s jewelry has garnered the attention of influential publications such as Hamptons, Gotham, Town & Country, O, The Oprah Magazine, Cookie and the nationally syndicated entertainment show Extra. On July 1, 2008, Scott was a featured guest on CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch to speak on the topic of “Tips on Making That Big Sale.”

Scott has formed high profile partnerships with fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Randolph Duke, who both featured her as their accessories designer for their runway collections. In addition to working with these designers, Scott has also assisted several national brands with design and production of their jewelry.

In 2007, Scott was recognized by the Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce with the Rising Star award. Her charisma and success have led her to become involved with several women’s organizations including the Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce and The American Heart Association, who in 2008 and 2009 featured Scott as a keynote speaker for their Go Red for Women campaign across the United States. She is also on the Board of LifeWorks and is Co-Chair of LEAP (LifeWorks Executives and Professionals). In addition, Scott recently spoke at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she served on the panel at the Women in the Know Conference in March, 2009.

In 2009, Scott launched a bridal line called "I Do" which is a signature line of bridal earrings, necklaces, cuffs to be sold on her website.

Personal Life

On August 8, 2008, Scott married in Hawaii. She has two children from a previous marriage.
