Kazuhiko Yamashita
Kazuhiko Yamashita (born September 1953) has been a general authority of of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since April 2011. He is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy
Yamashita converted to the LDS Church in 1971. Yamashita has a bachelors degree in physical education from Saitama University, a masters degree from Tsukuba University and also studied the philosophy of physical education at Brigham Young University. He was a professor at various Japanese universities. Most recently Yamashita was a professor at Fukuoka University.
In the LDS Church, Yamashita has been a bishop and later stake president of the Fukuoka Japan Stake. He served as an area seventy from 2001 to 2011. He and his wife Tazuko Yamashita are the parents of six children. They were living in Fukuoka, Japan at the time of his call as a general authority in April 2011.
