Kawar family

The Kawar family (Arabic: عائلة كوّار) is a Jordanian–Palestinian business family known for its role in the country's economic development. The family established one of Jordan's earliest private enterprises and later built a diversified conglomerate active in shipping, logistics, energy, healthcare, and ICT.

History

Amin Kawar founded the *Amirate Pharmacy* in Amman in 1926, one of the first pharmacies in Transjordan, and discovered phosphate deposits in Russeifa in 1935. His son Tawfiq Amin Kawar established Amin Kawar & Sons in the 1950s, expanding into maritime shipping and logistics. These ventures became the foundation of the modern Kawar Group, which operates across multiple sectors.
