Karl Jeffery
Karl Jeffery (born 1972) is an English ventriloquist, who started life as a professional ventriloquist at the age of 30. Karl Jeffery is also an accomplished magician, specialising in ‘comedy magic.’
History
From 1997 to 2003 Karl Jeffery worked as a radio presenter for many stations in the South East of England. Mellow 1557, Dream 100 fm, Chelmer FM, (now Dream 107.7fm), SGR FM & finally SGR Colchester
Despite work offers from other stations, he chose to take a break from presenting and pursue his life long passion for puppets and magic. In 2003 he launched himself as a children’s entertainer with a show called the ‘Animupps Magic & Puppet show’. The experience gained from performing ventriloquism at these shows encouraged him to develop several new characters which have been introduced over the years.
He took to the road in 2005 with his 45 minute Family Show called ‘Puppet Magic’ - starring 'Willy Mischief' (the naughtiest puppet in the world) This more earthy show is adult orientated but child friendly making it suitable for family audiences. The show enjoyed success at holiday parks & cabaret shows, but was also requested by BBC Essex to entertain its audience at the Empire Theatre in Halstead for Eric Hall’s ‘Hall of fame show’ December 2006.
In October 2008 Karl Jeffery and Willy Mischief featured as part of an interactive exhibition at the BALTIC centre for contemporary art in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear
