Kamilah Barrett

Kamilah Barrett born 15 December 1979 is a American dancer,choreographer and actress from Washington, DC. She is the daughter of songwriter Vinnie Barret.

She was one of the top six contestants on Season 1 of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance.

She is in your words: "a hip hop jazz dancer with a little possessed fire african inside". Among the other styles she performed on the show were hip hop, disco, tango, mambo,american jive and Contemporary.

Barret began dancing at age 4. She went to Suitland High School of Visual and Performing Arts and studied dance at Towson State University. Barrett also attended Fran's Studio of Dance year end classes and recitals in Ft. Washington, Md. Arlington School of Dance Summer Workshop 1994 (jazz, ballet, pointe, modern, tap). Dance Theater of Harlem Fall Intensive Workshop 1994 (ballet). Suitland High School Magnet & Performing Arts and Alvin Ailey Intensive Summer Workshops.

She studying jazz, modern, ballet and numerous dance classes in LA and New York.
