Kamala Niketan Montessori School, CBSE is a comprehensive school which renders value based education, thereby moulding younger generation to be respectful human beings and responsible citizens.
History
KNMS began with the foundation of the little kingdom “TINY TOTS” by Mrs .Geetanjali Satyamoorty. It was an exclusive play school for children between 2 - 2½ years of age. It started with the strength of 30 students in a garage in the year 1991. Over the years Tiny Tots has adopted the Montessori method of education to facilitate overall development. Tiny Tots blossomed and developed into a primary and high school with a new name “KAMALA NIKETAN MONTESSORI SCHOOL” affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi.
Current location
KNMS is presently in Tiruchchirapalli. In 2008, the school started its 3rd block. But by 2009, KNMS Institution proposed a site for some more blocks. There is playgrounds in this school and this school encourages sport activities. Temporary classes were built around the ground. But in July 2010 students are now planned to move from old block to new building.Students of class 8,9,10,11 and 12 have now been shifted to the new building.
Visual based learning
KNMS was the first school in Tiruchirapalli to initiate the fun based visual learning technology-Educomp. The Educomp technology was initiated in the year 2005. By 2010 KNMS looked ahead and also initiated its course from Extramarks. It follows CCE pattern. It is an ISO:9001:2000 certified institution.
Current status
KNMS is considered to be the best CBSE school in Tiruchchirapalli. Its strength of students is increasing year to year. Now there are more than 2000 students in the school. But each class consists no more than 35 students.Kamala niketan montessori is reputed to be one of the schools to have the xseed pattern of learning.The school also conducts special classes that includes Robotics,Animation and Advertisement as a part of their regular co curriculum.
Currently Kamala Niketan is in tie up with an well reputed coaching institute for IIT JEE, "SEEKERS", to coach their higher secondary students for competitive exams
Technologies and Improvements in New Building
The new block of KNMS is under construction.Students have been moved into the finished floors. The new classrooms are big and spacious and well ventilated. A bridge named 'Pakt Bridge' has been constructed for students to move from the first block to new building across the canal. The classrooms are fitted with smart boards from Promethean Ltd.The lessons are based from Extramarks.com and Educomp and Heymath.
Student's Performance
Students score good marks in 10th and 12th exams.Chutti Tv Spell champ runner up Narendran belongs to this school.KNMS has also in won many competitions and over all championship trophies in 2010-11 itself. .Tiruchirappalli district rank holder Ranjani Srinivasan belongs to this school.
