Kale Allerion
Kale, a wizard born in Riverway, grew as a slave girl in the Marione town of Riverway. When she turned 14, she found a dragon egg and it began to quicken, a stage of where a dragon embryo begins to develop. She carried it around until Headmistress Meiger discovered her egg, and sent her away, to learn and develop her skills. Kale ventures off into the wilderness, then into a cave, where she discovers 7 more dragon eggs. She escapes the cave, with the eggs, and she later befriends Leetu Bends (An Emerlindian with the talent of mindspeaking) and Dar (Doneel with combat skills). She learns that she is the DragonKeeper, among many people who are gifted in finding dragon eggs and hatching them. As a DragonKeeper her natural gift of finding dragon eggs is multiplied, which defines the difference between her and others with her gift. Kale, later on, learns she has the talent of mindspeaking as well, and that she must combat the Evil Wizard Risto and stop him. Helping her, are her two friends, Leetu Bends and Dar, and a whole questing party filled with people of many talents and skills. At the End of DragonSpell, she combats the evil Wizard Risto and wins, but he is still alive. In the second book, DragonQuest, Kale befriends her teacher, Bardon, a young O'rant that has lived at "The Hall" all his life. The Hall is a place where, under Paladin (Book's equivalent to Jesus Christ), knights and people from all around the island-country gather to better their skills and fight against any evil. Kale thinks Bardon is cold and cruel because he never talks to anyone and never shows any emotion. Kale is given a command to try and befriend Bardon, he rejects but later on they become great friends. In DragonQuest, Kale and the Wizard of the Bogs, Wizard Fenworth, combat and destroy Wizard Risto. But the husband-wife team of Burner Stox and Crim Cropper still remain, and the team wishes to fight Pretender (Book's equivalent to Satan). In the third book, DragonKnight, the book takes the perspective of Bardon and how he helps three women find their friend, father, and son. Kale comes into the book, a little bit more than half way into it. She and Bardon help Paladin fight Pretender off, and they win the day.
Kale and Bardon
Kale admitted to herself that she felt romantic feelings for Bardon, and later on, she discovered he felt the same for her. She shows her jealousy when Bardon's younger, overbearing cousin N'Rae, jumps into his arms with EXCITING news of finding her father. She thinks of N'Rae as a grown up version of Toopka. Toopka is a young, mischievous, and sometimes rude doneel who seems like she will always act like a young child. Kale and Bardon, strike a romantic relationship that lasts all the way to their marriage.
The Minor Dragons
Kale held 8 eggs during all the time of her questing years. Seven of which were minor dragon eggs. All 8 eggs hatched, and became different kinds of dragons. These dragons have special abilities, one might hold the ability to heal, the other the ability to light the darkness, and another might have the ability to heal things. All of her dragons seem to have the ability to project their spit at enemies, which temporarily blinds them due to the harsh sting.
Kale and Regidor
Regidor was the first egg that Kale discovered in Riverway. Regidor is a major dragon, and a Meech Dragon. Meech Dragons are known as the most intelligent of all Major Dragons, they have all abilities of a normal person in the books, and grow at a astonishing rate. Meeches are capable of speech and wizadry. Like many dragons, they can breathe fire and mindspeak. Regidor proved to be all that was mentioned and more, his very intelligence astonished him as well. He can be considered more of a person in the books because of his sense of speech and combat skills. He becomes good friends with his quickener, Kale, and they fight many years against any darkness that comes their way.
