Construction Activity
The major construction currently going on at the campus is adding a Level 2 trauma center for adults.
Another construction project that recently wrapped up was the addition of a 4-story parking structure for patients and staff to use.
Expansion
Parking Garage
The South Sacramento Medical Center recently constructed and opened a 4-story, 882 spaces parking garage. The parking garage is located on the northeast side of the campus on the old parking lots 3 and 4. The parking garage provides easy access for members to their medical appointments. The parking garage is free of charge and the top floor of the garage is reserved for staff parking.
Trauma Center
The South Sacramento Medical Center has been updating their campus to become a Level 2 trauma center. It joins the other trauma centers in the Sacramento region UC Davis Medical Center, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, and Mercy San Juan Medical Center. The expansion includes the construction of a heli-pad for life-flight emergencies and expansion of the emergency room.
