K. A. Laity

K.A. Laity, Ph.D. is a Finnish-American medievalist and award-winning author, noted for the novel Pelzmantel: A Medieval Tale ISBN 978-1892718464 as well as numerous short stories, plays and scholarly essays.

Career overview

A native of Lansing, Michigan, K.A. Laity is, in 2007, completing work on Unikirja, a collection of short stories based on the Kalevala, Kanteletar, and other Finnish myths and legends. Her father's family emigrated from Finland and, consequently, a substantial portion of her writing output is concerned with Finnish culture. She is also a full-time Professor of English literature, creative writing and film at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York.
