Jumpstart (radio program)
Jumpstart is an afternoon radio program hosted by Gino Quillamor (Gino, GQ) and Francesca (Fran) on Monster Radio RX 93.1 in Manila, Philippines. It first aired on September 4, 2006 and is currently on its second year on-air. It airs Monday - Friday afternoon from 4-7pm. On Saturday it airs from 2-6pm. It aired in the mornings from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm until January 1, 2008. It was also an hour early to its current weekday Schedule before this schedule was changed in March 2009.
Igi Guerrero used to host Jumpstart, until March 7, 2009. Gino Quillamor then replaced Igi on March 9, 2009.
The show features a mix of current pop music and fun segments with the hosts.
Segments
Everyday Segments:
- Word of the Day - The hosts provide a word for the listeners to attempt to use in a sentence which the listeners send in thru SMS.
- Quick Question - The hosts post a random question to the listeners to answer, usually based on the previous experiences of the hosts.
Weekly Segments:
- Twin-Spin Tuesday (Tuesday) - The listeners get to request for two songs from the same artist, played back-to-back.
- Riot Overload Artist (Wednesday) - The hosts feature an artist whose songs were prominent during the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.
- Cranked Up (Thursday) - Igi attempts to crank call people, sometimes offering prizes to those he crank calls. Currently, this segment is discontinued a few months before Igi went out of RX 93.1.
- iPod Spins (Friday) - The hosts feature a musician or celebrity and whatever is inside his or her iPod.
- Pimp Out Saturdays (Saturday) - The host give out the numbers of listeners who may want a date, friendship or whatever.
