Jude Gerard Prest

Jude Gerard Prest is an American director. He has directed, produced and written hundreds of hours of broadcast, syndicated, cable and international programming. Prest has also served as executive producer, co-executive producer, creator, supervising producer and director for a number of series and specials for networks such as Universal-NBC Sports, CBS, UPN, FOX, PBS, National Geographic, A&E, The Travel Channel, Sony Pictures Television, The History Channel, Comedy Central, Animal Planet, VH1, Court TV, 20th Century Fox, Fox Movie Channel and more. Having filmed on every continent (except Antarctica) and in countless countries, Prest has been involved with a number of award winning series, specials and multi-cam live event specials for television.

Currently, Prest is the senior Producer for a Discovery Channel series (untitled) slated to premiere in January 2009.

Prest has directed, executive produced, produced and written specials, series and films that have taken him to a vast and varied array of locations around the globe: from deep in the heart of the African jungle to the bustling markets of Morocco, Bangkok and India to remote villages of Malaysia, China, India and Haiti among many others. Prest has directed princes, kings and tribal chiefs throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and New Zealand and overseen, produced and directed projects throughout the South Pacific, Australia, Russia, Canada, Europe and a majority of states throughout the U.S.

Through his production company – LifeLike Entertainment Corp., and Caddo Street Productions, Prest continues to create, develop, executive produce and oversee film and television projects including the award-winning feature documentary film: Rabbit Hash – the Center of the Universe. This is a quirky charming film that focuses on the true story of the town of Rabbit Hash, a sleepy little Kentucky town that actually elected a dog named Goofy as their mayor. This film was a festival audience award winner and spawned a highly rated special for Animal Planet called, Mayor Dog – also produced and directed by Prest. Prest also recently created and executive produced the A&E special titled: Magic Castle After Dark – a variety special showcasing the best in magic and variety from the legendary Magic Castle club in Hollywood. Prest has also become a sought after re-enactment director, known for his high level of filmic dramatic and comedic recreations.

Prest is also a fully certified SCUBA diver and has been involved in a number of underwater high definition shoots around the globe in areas such as: Hawaii, The Great Barrier Reef, The Amazon, Bora Bora and American Samoa. Prest began his career as an actor on stage and in a variety of films, television appearances and commercials. He still acts as the producing and directing schedule allows and is also a successful Voice Over artist. He is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana and is married to Jennifer Prest.
