J.P. Viernes

J.P. Viernes (born May 30, 1996) is an American dancer and actor out of Half Moon Bay, California.

Career

Viernes began his dance training at the age of seven with the Shely Pack Dancers in Half Moon Bay, California. He participated in many recitals with the Shely Pack Dancers through 2009. In this time frame under the direction of Shely Pack Manning Viernes won national and regional dance titles.

The first professional theatre production that Viernes was a part of was a production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein MusicAL South Pacific at the Coastal Repertory Theater in Half Moon Bay, California. In this 2006 production Viernes played the part of Jerome.

After an audition and two subsequent call-back auditions Viernes was cast as Billy in the Chicago production of Billy Elliot The Musical. April 15, 2010 was the first official appearance of Viernes in the role.

In 2011, Viernes followed the production to Toronto, Ontario after the show closed in Chicago.

In June 2011 Viernes joined the Nation tour of Billy Elliot The Musical in which he is currently performing.
