The collection was started in 2012 and was first posted to TikTok under the Titanicfan97 account in 2022. DiGangi posts videos of the collection, primarily AbOUT him seeking out or unboxing VHS tapes sent in by viewers. The collection is currently housed at The Marketplace of Tarpon Springs in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and has over 5,900 tapes as of May 2026.
History
Origin
DiGangi started collecting Titanic VHS tapes in 2012 when he bought 12 tapes at a resale shop in Clearwater, Florida. He had around 110 tapes before he started posting to social media. In an interview, he described how he started collecting the tapes:
In 2012, we picked up a few copies. The shop had them on display on the top shelf, so it looked glorious. And I'm like, "I know no one's ever going to buy these." They're super cheap, so we got a box and filled it with all the Titanics, and we slowly started collecting it for a few years. We had about 100 before I started making the TikTok, so it really was last year when we went from 100 to 1,560 or so. It kind of exploded on its own. I have no control at this point.

Social media
DiGangi started posting his collection to TikTok on February 2, 2022. He opened a P.O. box on May 26, 2022 allowing his viewers to send him Titanic VHS tapes to add to the collection. Whenever DiGangi gets a letter from his P.O box, he puts the note in a binder nicknamed the "Book of Jack", named after Jack Dawson from the film. When the collection reached 1,000 tapes, he revealed his face online. His goal is to reach 1 million Titanic VHS tapes.
Displays
Dunedin Smoke Shop
The collection was first displayed at Dunedin Smoke Shop in Dunedin, Florida, nicknamed the "House of T". The display opened on April 11, 2024, eventually closing five months later when the original owners sold the building and the new owners asked for the display to be removed. DiGangi offered weekly tours of the space.
The Marketplace of Tarpon Springs
On November 29, 2025, in celebration of collecting 5,000 tapes, it was announced through DiGangi's social media pages that the collection would be moved to The Marketplace of Tarpon Springs in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The display opened on December 6, and it still houses the collection.
