Jose Miguel Garcia Sanchez
Jose Miguel Garcia Sanchez (born Seville, September 2, 1958), is a producer, writer, director and Spanish documentary maker.
Biography
Born in Triana (Seville), Jose Miguel is a documentary producer and director since 1988. He founded Vivac Documental in 1995.
With a strong interest in anthropology, adventure and science, he has dedicated himself to the world of documentary for more than 25 years, thus defining his career as a documentarian.
He is a traveller and survival expert. He has made over 30 documentaries around the world, living together with numerous indigenous ethnic groups such as Pygmies, Masai, Bushmen, Punan, Lacandon, Inuit and Lapps.
His documentaries have taken him through untamed lands, deserts and jungles. He has crossed Cape Horn and the Arctic and Antarctic circles. He has even flown with a C-130 propeller plane into the eye of a hurricane.
He works with different channels and international broadcasters, such as Televisión Española, Canal Sur, Mezzo, AXN, Discovery Channel And for the past six years, he has been directing documentaries for National Geographic Channel with the Taiwanese company Local Tiger International Co., Ltd. These programs are broadcast worldwide in 160 countries with 35 different languages.
He attends regularly the International audio-visual festivals and markets, such as: MIPTV in Cannes, SUNNY SIDE in Marseilles, ASIA TV FORUM in Singapore, TV & Film Festival in Taipei, China International Film & TV Programs Exhibition in Beijing, FILMART in Hong Kong and GZDOC Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival in Guangzhou, China.
