José António Tavares dos Anjos

José António Tavares dos Anjos is a journalist, historian, genealogist and former National Park Service employee at Lowell National Historic Site and the St. Gaudens National Historic Site.

Dos Anjos was born in Praia, Santiago, Cape Verde, and immigrated to the United States. His early life was spent in Taunton, Massachusetts, where he attended Elizabeth Pole, Parker Middle, and Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School. After moving to Brockton, Massachusetts, he attended Southeastern Vocational. He later transferred to Brockton High School, where he was part of the cross-country team. He later graduated from Brockton High in 1997.

Dos Anjos graduated from Bridgewater State College, with a major in history, in 2001. In 2008, Dos Anjos received his Associates degree in Liberal Arts Studies from Massasoit Community College. He was a Hall of Black Achievement [HOBA] and McNair Scholar student. He then attended Hawaii Pacific University in pursuit of a Masters in Diplomacy and Military Studies.
