John Leach (writer)
John Leach (born 13 December 1952 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England) is a contemporary writer of researched material on the subjects of philately and sports history.
Philately
John Leach is a philatelist and he has published The Encyclopaedia of Postal Authorities which is a "micropaedia" of key information AbOUT all postage stamp issuers and their place in postal history. It tries in particular to provide information about the hundreds of "minor" issuers. It was first published in 2002 and has been updated periodically since then.
Sports history
Although interested in the history of sport GeneRally, John Leach has tended to concentrate on cricket and he has written articles published by both the Association of Cricket Statisticians (ACS) and The Cricket Society (see list below).
He has also written From Lads to Lord's which seeks to consolidate 18th century match references in the works of G B Buckley, H T Waghorn and others that are not easily obtainable by general readers.
