John Franklin (headmaster)
John R. Franklin B.A. MEd Admin, is an Australian teacher who is the current headmaster of Christ's Hospital
Early Life and Education
Franklin was born in Brisbane and was educated in Ipswich Grammar School and was further educated at University of Southern Queensland. He gained a first degree in English and a diploma in teaching. He also gained a master's degree of Educational Administration from the University of New England, New South Wales. Franklin started his teaching career in Australia but he moved to England in 1989 where he taught at Sedbergh School. Franklin also moved to Marlborough College where he became a housemaster at Marlborough. He then returned to Australia where he became Deputy Head of St Peter's College, Adelaide and briefly became Acting Headmaster for 2 terms. In 1998, Franklin moved back to the United Kingdom where he became Head of Ardingly College and a board member of the Woodard Schools. He is currently, Head Master of Christ's Hospital where he replaced Dr Peter Southern in 2007 who was headmaster of Bancroft School. Franklin is also an Independent Schools Inspector
Family
John Franklin is married to his wife, Kim, who is a part-time English teacher at Christ's Hospital
