Jodo Kast

Jodo Kast is the name of a young man who posed as the bounty hunter Boba Fett in several Star Wars Expanded Universe novels and comics, including Star Wars: Boba Fett - Twin Engines of Destruction.

A resistance fighter on the planet Goratak III during the early years of the Empire, Kast shot and killed the Mandallian Giant bounty hunter Feskitt Bobb, whose suit of Mandalorian armor made Kast initially mistake him for Fett. After stripping the infamous bounty hunter's corpse, Kast decided to don the armor himself and adopt Boba Fett's identity. His motives were clear: gain the reputation of an infamous bounty hunter, and profit from this new profile. Kast's life was cut short however, at the hands of Fett himself. When attempting to collect a bounty, Kast was ambushed by Fett and his fellow bounty hunter Dengar. A battle ensued and Kast was eventually incapacitated by a poisonous dart. Boba Fett rigged Kast's jet pack to explode and placed the antidote for the poison just beyond his reach, explaining that if he reached the antidote before the pack exploded, he would survive.

Creation

Jodo Kast was first created for the Star Wars role-playing game (WEG) adventure Tatooine Manhunt. The adventure included many other thinly veiled copies of the main Bounty hunters from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Jodo Kast was created as a replacement for Boba Fett in the adventure. It was quite possible (and likely) that player characters would kill him in the adventure. Tatooine Manhunt also introduced the character of Adar Tallon to the Star Wars Expanded Universe
