The Queen of Burps started as a joke that lead her to the Guinness World Records in 2008. Jodie had a holiday party in 2006 where one of her best friends Trisha Lawrence gave here a homemade crown that her three daughters, Chloe, Kylie, and Kennedy made for her. It said "Burping Queen" on it. That night at the party Jodie wore the crown with pride. Later that night her husband Lodell video taped her giving a few samples. The next day Lodell put the video on youtube and received many demands for more videos. The following week Jodie was out celebrating her uncles birthday and made another video. It was so funny to make the video's that she made several more.
Jodie's oldest son Nathan loved Guinness World Records Book and was watching a show that featured Paul Hunn the male loudest burp. He wanted Jodie to go for Guinness so she applied to break a record. Within hours Jodie received a email from Guinness wanting her to get the record to be the first female loudest burp in the world.
Jodie flew to Madrid, Spain in 2008 where she took the record at 104.75 decibels fronm 8 feet 2 inches away. Guinness had her do 6 burps and came up with the average. Her loudest the was recorded was 107.7. After receiving the record Jodie went on to do radio shows all over the world, news shows and t.v. show. In June 2009 Jodie received word that Guinness gave her record away for a show in Italy.
