JobShop (Romanian job fair)

JobShop® is a national career event for students and fresh graduates organized annually by BEST since 1993. The event has evolved from a job fair to a career event ever since in 2008 this event offered more than job and internship opportunities. For example, depending on the city it is being organized in, some activities are: company presentations, technical workshops, company visits, soft skill trainings, scholarship presentations or job interviews.

History

JobShop® is the first job fair in Romania, organized for the first time in 1993 in Timişoara by BEST Timișoara (Board of European Students of Technology). Its purpose was to create a link between companies and students, in order to become easier for students to be hired or to be accepted as interns in companies. At its first edition it was thought as a "doors open" day.

In 1996, the event was launched both in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca.

In 1997 JobShop® became a registered trademark of BEST Timisoara.

In 2000 the event was extended to Iași and in 2000 to Brașov.

Ever since 2008, JobShop® started to be known as a "national career event", with editions in the five most known university centers of Romania.

Having some problems over the years, the 2012 event took place only in Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca and Iași, but in 2013 Brașov is preparing a comeback.
