Jim Watson (venture capitalist)

Jim Watson is a venture capitalist and Managing General Partner of CMEA Capital. He joined CMEA Capital’s Information Technology team in 2001 and specializes in software and services companies. He is on the Board of Directors of Apriso, a provider of plant and warehouse automation software; HassoPlattnerVentures, a European fund; iSuppli, a market intelligence service for the electronics supply chain; Jobvite, an internet platform for referral hiring; LiveOps, a provider of on-demand call center solutions; MailExpress, a provider of outsourced mail services for large commercial mailers; Odyssey Logistics, a provider of outsourced logistics management services to the chemical industry; Pixazza, an internet platform company; Schooner Technologies, a systems company for internet data centers of the future; SpikeSource, a fully automated platform for certifying software solutions; and Untangle, a network virtualization software company.

Jim was also on the board of CMEA portfolio companies PathScale, acquired by QLogic and Teros, acquired by Citrix Systems.

Prior to joining CMEA, Jim was founder and President of Skyway Systems, a high technology services company and leader in supply chain strategy. Skyway, with over 1,300 employees, and revenues above $100 million was subsequently acquired by Union Pacific Corporation (UPN). Prior to Skyway, Mr. Watson was with IBM's large computer systems division.

Jim graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland and served five years as a Navy pilot.
