He now resides in [[Macquarie Fields, New South Wales]] and is currently training for the 2018 Olympics. Lealamisa was born in [[Wellington, New Zealand]]. Jerry is apart of the [[Anoa'i family]], an elite group of wrestlers which includes [[Dwayne Johnson]].

== Personal life ==

Although Lealamisa was born in [[New Zealand]], at the age of 4 he and his family moved to [[Samoa]] where he spent his childhood.Lealamisa went to school at [[Claymore Public School]] and later finished his education at [[Macquarie Fields High School]].At a young age, Lealamisa, showed great promise in [[Wrestling]] and [[Rugby League]]. Lealamisa is the nephew of former [[NRL]] star [[Nigel Vagana]], who also represented [[Samoa]] at an international level. Lealamisa and his family moved to [[Australia]] in 2005, where he received a scholarship for the [[Australian Institute of Sport]].

== Career ==

Lealamisa attended the [[Australian Institute of Sport]] between 2006 and 2007, but left after a number of disputes with officials. Lealamisa took a gap year between 2008 and 2009, and began studying at [[Macquarie Fields High School]].

In 2006, Lealamisa trialled for the Australian [[Youth Olympics]] Wrestling team but was not selected.

Taking this set back as inspiration, Lealamisa turned his attention towards representing [[Samoa]]. Lealamisa travelled between Australia and Samoa throughout 2009 until he was selected to represent his country at the [[2010 Summer Youth Olympics]]. Lealamisa finished 11th, representing [[Samoa]], defeated in the third round against eventual bronze medalist [[Satyawart Kadian]].

== WWE ==

After representing [[Samoa]] in 2010, Lealamisa attracted attention from American investors. American wrestling stalwart [[John Cena]], a multiple [[WWE]] champion, attempted to convince Lealamisa to move to the [[United States]] and participate in the [[WrestleMania]] of 2012. Lealamisa declined and declared his intention to represent [[Samoa]] at the 2018 [[Olympic Games]]
