Jean Pierre Cardoso

Jean Pierre Cardoso (born Jean Pierre Costa Cardoso, on 14th February 1981, Sao Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian radio presenter based in London, UK. He is currently the managing director of Liberty Radio. Among other projects his most successful was to establish in September 2006 the first Brazilian satellite radio station in Europe, Radio Record, also known as Radio RecordBrazil. The station can be heard in the UK on Sky and on other European countries through Astra 2B and Eurobird Satellites as well as on the internet.

He has worked as a sound engineer both in UK and South Africa. Yet in South Africa he produced various TV and Radio shows broadcast in various stations such as SABC2, Lotus FM and 1377Khz Liberty Radio (former Radio Cidade).

In UK he managed the project of a new format for Liberty Radio as well as the move of the station from its former location in Stratford to the brand new studios based on Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park in North London.

As a sound engineer he projected and managed events in theatres, churches and stadiums. Some of this events were the Rainbow Theatre (former Astoria) for UCKG meetings and concerts, Signs Event at West Ham Stadium on 2nd July 2006 with an attendance of 18,000 people, and The Power of Enough Event on 9th of April 2004, where approximately 60,000 people attended the event.

As a radio presenter he created and presented on Radio Record the following shows:

Record Top 10 - the top 10 of the brazilian official music charts

A Hora do Rock - with only Brazilian Rock Bands

Record MPB - with the classics of the Brazilian Popular Music

He also was the MC for various concerts in London being among others the presenter for artists such as Jorge Ben Jor, Claudia Leitte, Daniela Mercury, Edson & Hudson and Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano.

He left Radio Record on the 15th October 2008 after over 2 years as Managing Director and presenter.

While he is still as managing director of Liberty Radio, in February 2009 he also established an internet radio station in London called Radio Alternativa. Its target audience seeks to reach a different kind of Brazilians living in the UK, as its play list is formed mostly of Indie Rock/Pop music, playing both Brazilian artists, such as Titãs, Paralamas do Sucesso, as well as internationally recognized bands, such as U2. On its slogan it claims to be "a new choice in Brazilian radio stations in Europe."
