Jean Christophe Gallien worked as a university lecturer, he earned his PhD specialising in the understanding of European relations with the U.S.A “Europe seen through the American media”, teaching political science, public finance and constitutional law. He then had the responsibility for the external communications of Mr. Valery Giscard d’Estaing, former French President and member of the French Constitutional Council. He followed on heading cabinets for several Ministers and as Director of Communication for Mr.Jean Arthuis, former french Minister of Economy and Finance and now President of the French Senate Finance Commission.

He’s an expert in public sector and non-profit sector communications (Territories or countries competitiveness, global and local attractiveness, regional or national governments reputation, changes within public services, territories crisis management …) and has developed a in-depth knowledge of strategy and operations in public affairs through a practical experience of European public spheres either regional, national or global.

He is recognized as an expert in building brand recognition for destinations and communities. With 10 years of destination branding and marketing experience, he is a great innovator and is always at the leading edge. He has been directly involved in some of the most exciting and successful destination branding and tourism marketing campaigns in France or Europe, including Mayenne’s highly acclaimed “Toute la vie à portée de main”, which he directed for 2 years. He is member of the board of Cap Com, the only event in France and Europe specialising in Public Sector communication, administrator for the association “Communication Publique” which gathers the head of communication of French public sector organisations, member of the e-government commission of the ADF (Assembly of French Regions). He is advisor to the European Commission for communication. He represents France on a European Commission workshop focusing on the European structural funds communication. He also works within the Commission on a European Symposium project which is centred around the theme of public communications.

Actually with many others Public Affairs Officers,a selection of PA Consultants and others speakers from the civil society, he is in the process that will be starting on March 2007, for the elaboration of the french "BLUE BOOK" OF LOBBYING. A document to be published by the end of the year, beginning 2008. The objective is the elaboration of a Parliamentary Report for the creation of a regulation corpus of lobbying activities in France. The public gathered some of the majors french and foreign companies.
