JBM Auto

JBM Auto Limited is an Indian automotive and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. The company operates as the FlagShip entity of the JBM Group. It is a premier manufacturer of automotive component systems, high-precision tooling, and electric buses, commanding a 30%–35% market share in India’s e-bus sector.

History

JBM Auto was incorporated in 1996 under the umbrella of the JBM Group—a global conglomerate established by Surender Kumar Arya in 1983. The company initially set up its operations in 1990 to manufacture high-precision tools, dies, and moulds in Faridabad, later expanding into a press shop for sheet metal components and welded sub-assemblies to supply major automotive players.

In April 2009, JBM Auto significantly expanded its auto component footprint by acquiring a 73.89% stake in ThyssenKrupp JBM (P) Ltd from Thyssenkrupp Tallent Limited. The joint venture was subsequently renamed JBM Auto System Private Limited and became a key subsidiary. Pivoting toward public green mobility infrastructure in the 2010s, JBM Auto established a dedicated bus manufacturing division, launching its flagship low-floor city bus series (CITYLIFE) and zero-emission electric buses (ECO-LIFE).
