Jason Mesnick is the runner-up on Season 4 of The Bachelorette and the Bachelor of the 13th season of the reality dating show The Bachelor.

Biography

Mesnick is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Washington at the age of eight and received his BA in psychology at the University of Washington, and now resides in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland.

Mesnick is an account executive in estate and legacy planning, and is a "big brother" for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America.

He dated DeAnna Pappas on The Bachelorette and was one of the final two suitors, even bending his knee to propose in the final rose ceremony before DeAnna stopped him. Instead Pappas chose Jesse Csincsak. Mesnick was chosen to be the next Bachelor, however, and he said that he did find love on ABC’s reality dating series. The Bachelor Mesnick said. “I found exactly what I was hoping for, what I was looking for. I’m completely in love.”

He proposed to Melissa Rycroft, a 25 year old Dallas native and former squad member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. He then revealed on "After the Final Rose" that the chemistry changed with Melissa over the weeks after the end of the show, and that he still loves the runner-up, Molly Malaney. Melissa was brought out, he broke up with her, and she returned the engagement ring. Molly was then brought out, he asked for another chance with her, and she accepted.”

Mesnick was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel the day after the "After the Final Rose" was aired and explained what happened behind the scenes. He told Jimmy that the chemistry was different between him and Melissa. Jimmy asked Jason why he proposed marriage to Melissa and Jason replied that Melissa was exactly what he wanted at the time, but he did not want to lead Melissa on.
