Jason Maloney

Jason Maloney (artist) was born in Knoxville, Tennesse in 1974 and is an American Painter.

Life and Work

Raised in Southern California, his childhood was heavily influenced by 80’s skateboard graphics, classic slasher movies and heavy metal music. Maloney obsessively spent hours listening to Iron Maiden and recreating Derek Riggs’ album covers. Later he enrolled in California State University, Fullerton where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing in 2000. Shortly after completing his education and formal art training, Jason was hired on as an artist for Disney. While at Disney, Jason painted elements for the Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland, inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Jason Maloney exhibits his highly rendered oil paintings, watercolors and pencil drawings on the most revered walls devoted to lowbrow art; Corey Helford Gallery, Billy Shire Fine Arts in Culver City, California and La Luz de Jesus in Los Angeles. His work was also selected among 150 other artists to exhibit at the Laguna Art Museum in Southern California in the ground breaking art show "In the Land of Retinal Delights:The Juxtapoz Factor" summer of 2008. Jason Maloney has been featured in the pages of Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine, International Tattoo Art Magazine, Riveria, 944 Magazine, ISM Quarterly, Artweek, and O.C. Weekly. Surf and skate companies Nike, Quiksilver, Hurley International and Grind King have commissioned Maloney’s painted satire for t-shirts, board shorts, skate trucks and public murals.
