Jason Drummond

Jason Drummond is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and listed 8 technology companies on European STOCK Exchanges since 1998. Jason is ACTIVE in UK technology business and currently is a founder and Investor in Coms plc (L.COMS) a Internet communications Company and FairFX plcthe UK’s largest independent provider of Currency Debit Cards.

At the age of 15, Drummond started Micromax, a computer software supplier, using newsagents to distribute his products. At 18, he established IDL Communications Limited, a distributor of cell phones and fax machines. He spent three years working in emerging markets around the world. In 1996 he founded Virtual Internet (VI) an online intellectual property protection and web hosting services company. VI listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE:VET) in 1999 and in 2000 combined a £25 million fundraising with a move to the official list. VI was acquired by Register.com Inc. (Nasdaq:RCOM) in 2002.

In September 1999 Jason Drummond co-founded Gaming Corporation plc. In May 2005 Gaming Corporation acquired Gambling.com. for $20,000,000, later selling it for $2.5 million realising a huge loss. In October 2006 Gaming Corporation plc changed its name to Media Corporation plc.

On 13/10/2009 Media Corp announced the acquisition of online casino Purple Lounge.

In an RNS dated 27/04/2012 Media Corp stated "In preparing the interim results it has become clear that the Purple Lounge is trading materially behind the same period of the previous financial year which will result in increased losses for the division and, as a result, the Company as a whole. The directors believe that Purple Lounge has suffered as a result of negative trade press (much of which the directors consider totally unfounded) particularly surrounding the litigation brought against one of the Company's subsidiaries by CD Casino.com Limited."

Purple Lounge was put into liquidation on May 31, 2012. Depositors & players formed an action group to try to recoup their balances & winnings.

Drummond is also a founder and Investor in domain registration agency RegistryPro.com, Betex Group plc, and the voice data companies Nettworx plc and Coms plc.

In 2000, the Guardian described Drummond as “richer than all of the Spice Girls put together and virtually unknown”.

He is married to Helen and has three children.
