Jacy Nova

Jacy Nova, is a Native American author, who is a graphic novelist and gossip blogger. Her first novel co-written with Nick Nova, The Vampress Girls: City of the Lost Souls was released by Kensington Publishing in April 2008. Her second book, The Vampress Girls: Witches of Cazador was released in September 2008. Her gossip column, Astrochicks, launched in June 2008.

Personal life

Jacy Nova was born in Portland, Oregon and is part Arapaho and Blackfoot Indian. She was born into a bohemian family with a psychic mother and artistic father. Growing up, her Mother taught her the art of Tarot, Astrology, and how to develop her psychic ability.

In 1996, she moved to Europe and returned to Los Angeles in 2001. After returning to LA, she joined a creative group and began pursuing her career in writing.

The Vampress Girls Series

Jacy Nova says that the idea for Vampress Girls, was originally a series of anime characters. The original storyline was created by Nick Nova and developed in conjunction with Jacy. In 2007, the concept along with a series of characters was presented to Kensington Books, and they signed their first major book deal in June 2007.

An original music score was written and produced by Boris Bouma, the lead singer for Noise Within.

Inspiration

Nick Nova, an avid comic book reader, had a fascination with Vampires, Demons, and Witches. Jacy Nova, her fascination with the supernatural and love of rock and roll was the inspiration behind the book series. Nick Nova, is an actor and film student, in Los Angeles as well.

AstroChicks

In 2008, Jacy Nova launched her gossip blog Astrochicks, Where the Stars Collide. The blog features daily gossip reports on popular celebrities, reality stars, music artists, and occasionally AbOUT other popular figures making headlines.

In April 2009, Jacy Nova announced a new web series she is producing with Justine Kenzer aka PsychicGirl. It's scheduled to air in June 2009.
