Jacob Aqraou

Jacob Aqraou is an executive best known for his position at eBay.

Background

Aqraou serves as Senior Vice President of Europe Middle East & Africa at eBay UK Limited. He has worked for other companies including global consulting firm McKinsey, Aros Securities, and Unibank. He also founded Finexia Limited, a business insurance and financing firm.

Previously, Aqraou was General Manager of eBay Classifieds Group, which is a global portfolio of classifieds businesses, covering 25 countries and 1000 cities. Trading under 11 different brands, it includes alaMaula, BilBasen, dba.dk, 2dehands.be/2ememain.be, iBazar, eBay Classifieds (eBay Annunci & eBay Kleinanzeigen), Marktplaats.nl, mobile.de, Kijiji, Gumtree and Loquo.

Prior to running eBay's global classifieds portfolio he worked for John Donahoe leading the Strategy and Ventures Group where he identified future trends, developed eBay's strategy while seeding and starting new ventures. Aqraou and his team launched eBay's mobile efforts among other things. Aqraou has also served as the CFO of eBay Europe and the Vice President of Expansion and Operations for the Corporate New Business Venture group. In that capacity, he oversaw eight M&A deals including the acquisitions of Skype and Shopping.com.

Aqraou holds a degree in economics and Business Administration and a graduate degree in finance and accounting from Copenhagen Business School as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
