JackThreads
JackThreads is a members-only online shopping community for men. It is based in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in 2008, JackThreads sells contemporary and streetwear fashion at discounted prices in a limited-time, flash-sale format.
History
The company was launched in 2008 by Ohio State University alumnus Jason Ross. Ross graduated from Ohio State University in 2003 with a BSBA in Finance, with a vision to develop an online space where the best in men's contemporary fashion and top-tier streetwear brands could be sold off-price with a member’s only premise. The company was acquired by Thrillist in May 2010. As of 2011, JackThreads is growing about 20% month-over-month.
Overview
Visitors to JackThreads must be members in order to shop on the site. Once registered, a daily e-mail is sent to alert members of featured sales. New sales are posted daily around noon and last for an average of 72 hours, with discounts ranging from 51 percent to 75 percent off retail prices.
