Isidro A. T. Savillo
Isidro Antonio Torte Savillo is a multidisciplinary scientist and a writer. He organizes the international scientific societies/chapters. He is the President and/or a member of the Board of international organizations. He has positions in the Editorial Board of some Thomson Reuters indexed international journals and has written a book. One of his research studies has focused on the discovery of the impermanence of [...] phenotypes in both animals and plants. He does not believe in specific guidelines to determine one's gender referring to this quote he authored (2010): "It is you who judges who you are. In this way, the judgment is accurate." Guidelines for this may even lead to a publication retraction. The epigenetics article which includes topics AbOUT the "misspelled DNA" and that "only a small fraction [of the DNA] follows the Mendelian Inheritance" supports his 2002 publication on "The overpowering influence of the environment to gene expression" suggesting that environmental factors are responsible for this "revolutionary" stand. He also wrote an article entitled "Drawing the line between theoretical and basic biology" to emphasize their scientific delineation. His pioneering finding on the use of Pyxine cocoes (Swartz)Nyl. as a bioindicator/biomonitor for atmospheric pollution has been practiced not only in the Philippines but also in Thailand and India where this is utilized for ACTIVE biomonitoring until today in India. He introduces the proposed "Domesticity scale for wild birds" being the senior author of this international publication. He is named a scholar from the Philippines and a Recipient of international awards.

He is primarily a Microbiologist and indulges in the study of lichens, microscopic fungi, and eumycetozoan. He is also an Ichthyologist, Theoretical biologist, Molecular and Cellular biologist, and a Wetland scientist.

He is engaged in the establishment of international societies/chapters in the areas of Molecular and Cell Biology and Biotechnology, Personalized medicine, Wetlands, and Taxonomy. After the official ISMCBBPR voters voted for their choice among the nominees for the Molecule of the Year competition, and subsequently, counting their votes, Prof. Savillo being the President announces online the molecule having the most votes as the winner for the title of the Molecule of the Year. He participated in researches at the California State University Retinal Cell biology laboratory, the Molecular pathology Laboratories, University of Southern California School of Medicine and the LAC+USC Medical Center. He was a DAAD research scholar at the Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum.

He has attended international conferences on wetlands, in conjunction with board meetings being the President of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) Asia Chapter, in the U.S.A.,Australia,Taiwan, and Czech Republic. He was a Keynote speaker during the First SWS Asia chapter's Asian Wetland Convention and Workshop where his speeches were cited in the bibliographic section of theses from Taiwan.

He is also an Associate editor and a member of the Editorial board of ISI (currently Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge) indexed journals including a book entitled Biorights: The Conservation Paradigm for Poverty Alleviation. He is also a reviewer and a member of editorial boards of other scientific journals and proceedings. He was cited in the references of two research studies as a proceedings' editor in the Publication list, Center for Ecological Research, Kyoto University. He has written scientific articles and these were published in ISI indexed journals. He has also written theoretical biology papers.

He espouses the environment and he is a member of the wildlife management committee in the region. He had a concern for climate change. Lately, as a naturalist, his studies include the wild birds,bird of prey, ants, and other unusual species. He received a number of international awards and scientific appreciations.
Writer/Traveler
Having traveled alone the world over at age of 18, this has influenced him to partake in TranscUlturAl international undertakings as shown in his accomplishments and to consider "intercultural citizenship". His writings usually portray the places where he has been to or visited abroad. He wrote a novel entitled "Yelwa- Yauri", a dramatic love story encompassing countries in three continents. As a screenwriter/writer, he uses the pseudonym "Sid". He was a former student of the UCLA Professional Screenwriting Program.
