IPS Packaging
IPS Packaging is a national distributor of packaging supplies and packaging equipment. IPS Packaging has warehouses throughout the United States and its headquarters is located in Fountain Inn, SC.
History
IPS Packaging started in 1976 by Jerry Murdock in Greenville, SC. Murdock started the company by himself in the basement of his farmhouse. As the company grew so did the range of business. IPS now has warehouses in North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois, Texas, Virginia and Mexico.
IPS Packaging continues its growth with a sustaining growth rate that doubles every three to four years. What started as a small, family-owned business has now become an industry leader; The IPS Packaging name has become synonymous with the entire industry of industrial packaging supplies.
Timeline
- 1976 - IPS Packaging starts as a one-man operation from a basement in Greenville, SC.
- 1984 - Because of the growing market in North Carolina, IPS Packaging expands to Charlotte with four salesmen.
- 1999 - The Fastener Division is added to IPS product line.
- 2000 - Expanded into Virginia with warehouses in Roanoke and Richmond.
- 2001 - IPS Packaging headquarters moves to its current location in Fountain Inn, SC.
- 2003 - Distribution Center is opened in High Point, NC.
- 2005 - The company acquires Carolina Adhesives.
- 2006 - IPS Packaging acquired All-Star Packaging and opened warehouses in Ashland City, Johnson City and Juarez, Mexico.
- 2007 - IPS Packaging continues its growth by acquiring Unipak.
- 2008 - IPS Packaging becomes an international company distributing to China, Israel, Canada and Mexico.
